So last year I went to Iceland which is a country that had been on my list for a while, and the geography of the country was amazing!
I went on a day trip to Þingvellir National Park where I walked the divide between the Eurasian and North-American plate boundaries that are slowly pulling Iceland apart (approximately 2cm a year)!
Walking the divide
These walls would have once been part of the same rock formation many years ago
Then I headed over to Gullfoss waterfall where you can stand next to the waterfall!
The third stop in the national park was the geysir geothermal area!
I did another day trip, these are some of the views on the way!
This is the base of Eyjafjallajökull volcano (this is the one that erupted in 2010 and stopped all the flights across Europe)
This is my day trip destination: Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where the ice breaks off the glacier, and eventually escapes out to the North Atlantic Ocean!
The great escape!

I also went on a boat trip and saw some puffins
Iceland is one amazing country, and unlike anything I expected, or had seen before! Iceland has become one of my favourite countries due to the geography! One day I would like to go back, and try to see the Northern part of the country! It is easy to see why it is called the land of fire and ice :)
Great!
Hey Kate, how are you doing? :) Wowww Iceland is a fantastic place. The road are incredible! I think that a road trip is a great chose in Iceland, right?
Hey Renan, I'm good thanks :) How are you? Iceland is amazing! A car is definitely a good way to get around Iceland, but they have a good bus network (in the summer) and lots of organised day trips. Are you thinking of going?
Awsome!
