So one year I went to visit my friend in Southland, NZ and we went to Stewart Island which is the southernmost point in NZ that you can go to :) This involved crossing Foveaux Strait, a very rough stretch of water, and the Strait is right in the middle of the Roaring 40's wind funnel.
Stewart Island is very beautiful with amazing beaches. We walked around the island and enjoyed the scenery!
We watched out for kiwis on the road! A kiwi is a native NZ bird, but also a nickname for people from NZ
We didn't see any of the kiwis, but we did spot a penguin!
and encountered a traffic jam Stewart Island style!
We also went to Ulva Island which is rodent free thanks to Department of Conservation rules about visiting the island.
We saw lots of wekas!
I would recommend visiting Stewart Island for its beauty!
Beautiful place! I think I've seen these Kiwis in some cartoon! kkk :)
lol kiwis/wekas are world famous in Brazil!!!! :)
:D Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome :)
It's amazing! Perhaps do you know if the weather there is usually cloud?
I think it depends on the day, the first day I was there it rained, the second day was sunny :) it was warm though as I was there in the summer http://www.stewartisland.co.nz/pages/weather/
Yeah I think so. Well, I'll remember this place when I go to New Zealand ;)
Cool, it is worth a visit :)
